The Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation applies for grants and awards on behalf of the library and in support of the programs we deliver. Many of the library’s most innovative and popular programming would not exist without the support of local, regional, and national organizations. Family, corporate and business, and private foundations give generously each year to support a variety of the Foundation's programs. To find out more, please contact the LLLCF office at (925) 283-6513.
Current Grants
- Thomas J. Long Foundation: 18 month grant helped fund the launch and initial year of the GSLC, a collaboration of 12 education, science and arts institutions that bring programs to the LLLC. Funds equipped the Arts & Science Discovery Center and supported GSLC programs for all ages.
- S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation: grant to support a collaboration between the LLLCF, Lafayette School District, Antioch Unified School District, the Lafayette Branch of the County Library, and Chabot Space & Science Center that features a NASA photo exhibit of space, and linked to eighth grade science curriculum. In Lafayette for two weeks, the exhibit then moves to Antioch. The project includes a teacher training component, study materials, and a public opening of the exhibit with informal lecture.
