IMMEDIATE NEEDS by the Foundation!OPPORTUNITIES WITH LLLCF Volunteer Positions:
Purpose: Provide "day of" administrative and "host" support for Consortium or other programs held at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. Responsibilities:
Training will be provided prior to assuming this volunteer role. Often additional training/orientation will be needed for specific events or programs. Purpose: to offer tours of the library in order to (a) acquaint patrons with the resources available and/or (b) give visitors a "tourist's" tour of the library...both tours with the intent of enlightening the greater community on what it means for a library to also be a Learning Center.

WANTED!Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation Volunteers Volunteers to join the ranks of our growing Foundation team by serving on one of the standing committees of the LLLCF Board! We are especially looking for individuals with the following skills:
Hours are flexible and fun is guaranteed, so please fill out an application and fax or send it to our Foundation office! Fax: (925) 282-5020 Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation Lafayette Library and Learning Center Volunteers Our volunteers range in age from 12 to 90. Some do short-term projects, and some stay for years! We welcome your gift of time and talents, whatever it may be. Adults can help with book routing and check-in, tutoring English, monitoring outside areas, and managing the crowd in the Teen Center, Children's Area, and Storytelling Corner. Older Teens can help with tutoring, participating in the Teen Advisory Group to create and present programs (e.g. after-school crafts), creating displays (e.g., Chinese New Year) and flyers, working in the Friends Corner Book Shop and developing fundraising ideas. Younger High School students can answer patron questions, work at special events, and assist in children’s programs. Junior High School students can shelve picture books and videos, and monitor the library, looking for issues that need reporting or ways to tidy up.
