Lafayette Historical Society

The power of history ignites imagination, stimulates thought and provides ongoing enjoyment to interested folks of all ages. With its enthusiastic membership of history buffs, local educators and interested citizens, the Lafayette Historical Society (LHS) haslong collected and chronicled oral histories, treasured photographs and even Lafayette's beloved "Ol’ Betsy," the community's original 1922 Model T fire truck. In doing so, the Historical Society is preserving for our future, important stories and lessons from our past.

Sweet ThursdayNow permanently located at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, on the street level off Golden Gate Way, the LHS strives to link Lafayette's history to our lives today through a growing collection and on-going programs, publications and exhibits that volunteers share with our schools and our community throughout the year.
